  Tour report 2

Well, since our last correspondence a lot of activity has taken place. The experience at Sentosa Island was something to remember. We started with a cable car ride across the harbour, not something for persons with a fear of heights like our Chairman. Each child was free to choose what they wanted to do on the island. The pink dolphin performance was fantastic and some of our children were even treated to touching the dolphins in the water. The day ended with the whole choir attending the Musical Fountains Show. Such magic with lights and water has never been experienced before !!! Needless to say everybody was dead tired when got finally got back on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday we all had to get up early to perform at the Konghwa School and Nanyang Primary Schools. These schools have 1700 and 2000 learners respectively and the whole group was treated like royalty at these schools. The 1st performance was a bit flat but the choir certainly upped their game when they shared the staged with Nanyang’s
Choir, who will also be participating at the World Choir Games. Our choir kicked some butt on the day, with our sound and range of songs enjoyed by all - even a representative from the SA High Commissioner’s office attended the 1st performance. The afternoon was spent by the children dispatching of some of the foreign currency in shopping malls supplied by you the wonderful parents back home. In the evening some of the choir members continued their shopping spree at the Little India shopping centre, while the rest of us went on a night safari. Both excursions were thoroughly enjoyed by all.

This morning we left for the Jurong Bird Park, with both the bird shows being in a class of their own. The detail of these shows will certainly be remembered by all. This morning at 04:00 our Development Choir Group left for Xiamen. Well, the children are practicing this afternoon and would be doing the same tomorrow afternoon. The focus on the Choir Games has begun in all earnest. This evening we are going on a boat ride on the river and all the children would be having an early night. Besides the practice tomorrow, the rest of the day is free. On Saturday morning we’ll be getting up at 03:30 to get ready for our flight to Xiamen. Thus the next report will be from China.

To all the parents back home, keep on praying for the wellbeing of our group. God knows our heart’s desire, and if it is in His will we will come back with a medal. The Choir Olympics is indeed a very stressful time for the management and children.

God Bless
